Year 2 Maths Resources: Week 36
The final piece in the jigsaw of Year 2 resources to meet the needs of the Primary Framework for Mathematics. This set is for Block E, Unit 3, Week 3.
Whilst we have some of the standard worksheets which lok at completing addition and subtraction sentences and dividing by 3 with remainders, most of this week concentrates on investigations and challenges.
It's time to get the boxes out and make sure you have at least 20 buttons or counters for our 'How many ways...?' investigation. The task sounds simple: how many ways can you put the buttons in the three boxes so that there is an even number in each box. But there are lots of possible solutions and it might neeed some teamwork to find them all.
A similar investigation is the car number plate, but with less possible answers. Finally we round off the year's work with some puzzles, both magic squares and sudoku.
