Fraction work in Year 2 is mostly practical, as children explore simple fractions such as halves and quarters. Thirds are also introduced for the first time, which is important as it helps children realise that fractions are not just halves and quarters.
Out latest set of pages asks children to find the odd one out when presented with fractions in different forms; shapes, diagrams, words and figures. An excellent set of worksheets as it also asks for children to explain their answers.
We have just published several new sets of worksheets for fractions in Year 3, including using chocolate cakes to help with understanding tenths and dividing up pizzas to help with understanding fifths and sixths. All very tasty and a great way to help support children’s learning!
