Jane from Doncaster has asked us if we could produce some maths worksheets on adding multiples of ten as there is a little gap in our resources; so here they are, found in our Year 2 addition section.
These are basic pages which all concentrate on adding multiples of 10. Keeping to numbers below 100 these should be straightforward for children who have a good knowledge of adding single digit numbers and have begun to understand place value.
A key idea here is that if you know that 6 + 7 = 13 then you can quickly work out that 60 + 70 = 130; one piece of knowedge leads to another. However, many children fail to learn these basic addition facts, just as they fail to learn their tables, resulting in slow calculating with larger numbers.
