We are building up our Early Years English resources and the most recent addition has been a set of simple bingo cards aimed at helping with recognition of CVC words.
This game can be played by up to 6 children at a time, but there is no reason why the cards cannot be dupilcated if more are needed. Cut the bingo cards out and give one to each child. Play either for a complete line across or for a full house. The words can either be crossed out or circled or if you want to keep the cards, give out 6 counters so that the words can be covered.
It is a good idea to cut out the word cards for calling out. The caller can then shuffle them and then call the words out one at a time, placing the called words in alphabetical order. This makes it easy to check the winning bingo player’s card.
