Infant class sizes on the rise!
Something which parents of young children will be disappointed to hear is that class sizes in infant classes are on the rise. 30 seems to be the accepted limit for classes, but 1.7% are over this limit and over 10 000 children are being taught in 'unlawfully large classes'.
However, this is still a huge drop in numbers compared to when Labour came to power, and infant classes are very different places compared to just 20 years ago. There are far more Teacher Assistants and adults helping in the classroom so it may be that a simple class size is not the most appropriate measurement to use.
