This set of four maths worksheets is unusual and it is not easy to find anything similar elsewhere. It looks at finding numbers between two other numbers and covers several important concepts. The hardest part of the worksheets is finding numbers half way between two other whole numbers and it is worth thinking about the mental processes which take place when working out such a question. For example, as adults, how do we find half way between 39 and 49? Some people will add 1 to 39 and take 1 from 49 and keep repeating this until they reach a middle number. This is easier if there is a number line handy. Others will work out the difference (10), find half of it (5) and add this to the 39, making 44.
