We're quickly moving on towards the end of the spring term and the maths is getting harder. This week our year 2 maths resources concentrate on multiplication and division, with quite a variety of pages to work on. There are also two pages on solving money problems, where the cost of train tickets has to be worked out. Children may well have not come across the charts such as this before and will need showing how the prices are displayed. By now knowledge of the 2x, 5x and 10x tables should be quite good, but it is still really worthwhile reciting the tables until they are known off by heart. Our challenge this week looks at how many different ways to make 12 using any three from ten cards. As well as being good practice at addition of single digits it should also encourage logical thinking and working in an ordered, systematic way. Go to our Week 22 programme
