We are now on our penultimate set of resources for the Year 2 Primary Framework Planning, which covers Block E, Unit 3, Week 2. As usual we have our 40 mental arithmetic questions, this week concentrating on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The 10p challenge is a good mini investigation and it would be helpful to have some coins handy for this. We also introduce the 3 times table calculator game which is good practice at remembering the 3x table.  and dividing by 3. As confidence grows with knowing the 3x table dividing by 3 can also be introduced. One of my favourite activities is the Hexagon Challenge. There are quite a few different routes through and it is excellent practice at adding small numbers. It is a good idea to mark the route taken and write the total next to it.
