Years 4, 5 and 6 Mental Arithmetic: final sets
Today we have published the final sets of our mental arithmetic questions for Years 4, 5 and 6. Altogether there are 72 sets for each year group, with the idea being that two are used each week during the school term's, 12 weeks per term.
This last week's sets for Year 4 include metric measurement of length and weight (or mass). There are also two questions on factors of numbers which children will just be coming across.
The Year 5 questions take a look at number sequences, including negative numbers, some straightforward multiplication as well as a couple of square numbers.
The final set of Year 6 questions include division, fractions, factors and doubling. Watch out for the last two questions on doubling decimal fractions. Doubling 0.09 is 0.18 and not 0.018 which is the type of answer that many children give.
