SAT Paper A 2011 question 22 and answer
Having a good mathematical knowledge is not necessarily going to help with this question and many children and adults will find it difficult whilst some will find it very easy.
Probably the best approach is to treat the question as two parts, firstly visualise turning the cube a quarter turn anti-clockwise so that the grey rectangle is still on the top, but at the front. The triangle would then be at the back.
Then flip the cube towards you so that the rectangle is as shown on the second diagram and the triangle will be on the top with one angle on the front left corner.
You might need to repeat the whole process with the quarter circle. A quarter turn anticlockwise will put the quarter circle on the side at the back/top. Flip the cube and the quarter circle will be on the side at the front/top.
