Year 3 maths worksheets: reading scales
Here we have another set of worksheets which looks at reading scales correctly. This might seem to be a very easy task, but, in fact it is one that many children find tricky, especially as they have to be able to count up in tens, fifties etc.
The rulers are scale drawings and only some of the divisions have been marked. The divisions on the first two rulers go up in ones, but from then on it becomes harder with scales going up in 2s, 5s, 20s, halves and 200s. With these it is important to establish how the divisions are increasing before reading the points and most children will probably have to count along the lines.
There are also two slightly easier capacity scales which go up in 10s and 50s.
