Year 3 weekly maths programme: week 22
This week we slow down a little and have a good look at some of the basic concepts involved with multiplication, division and fractions. Some of these might appear easy but it is very important that the concepts are fully understood before moving on. For example, it is very easy to assume that children know and understand how to write fractions and what a fraction means. it is also important to understand the relationship between multiplication and division.
This week we are aiming to:
1. revise understanding of multiplication
2. check answers by carrying out a different calculation
3. understand multiplying by 10
4. revise writing fractions in words and numbers
5. find fractions of amounts
6. improve mental arithmetic
