This week is very much about Handling Data, but there are also some arithmetic pages. perhaps the hardest is the very first page. The task here is to find all the different totals that can be made by adding any three of the 2-digit numbers shown - very tricky if done 'in your head' and certainly jottings would be expected. The next page looks at subtracting 10p from amounts written in pounds or pence and will need a good understanding of money with questions such as £5.00 - 10p. Most of the graphs in this module have the numbers on the vertical axis going up in twos, something children may not have come across before. it is also important that children make their own hypotheses and collect data to show the results.
