Further work on graphs
This week we have published another set of worksheets on Handling Data, suitable for Year 3. Children should be able to interpret bar charts where the vertical axis goes up in twos and answer questions such as:
‘Which car was the most popular?’
They should also be thinking about what the graph is showing and giving their opinions with questions such as,
‘Why do you think there were so many gulls?’, where there is no one correct answer.
As well as interpreting graphs it is important for children to test their own hypotheses by collecting data and displaying it as a graph or pictogram to show whether their hypothesis was correct.
