Year 3 weekly programme: week 34
There is some quite tricky maths involved in this week's Year 3 programme and there are some good examples of how answers can be found in a variety of ways. The pages on finding the number half way between two other numbers is a good example of this. One way to find the answer is to use the number line and put a finger on each number and then move in steps of ten towards each other. perhaps an easier way is to add the two numbers and then halve the answer.
Another tricky pair of pages involves estimating where numbers lie on a blank number line. One of the best ways of doing this is to estimate the half way point and work from there.
Other activities include written addition of two 2-digit numbers, subtracting multiples of 100 mentally, finding change from £2.00 and multiplying multiples of ten by a single digit.
