More idioms: food and colours
Food provides a rich source of idioms, or sayings, although the meanings may not have anything at all to do with food! ‘Pie in the sky’ and ‘Had your chips’ are just two such sayings. We have taken a closer look at some of these sayings with our latest set of worksheets, which are both informative and fun. We have even left a little space for some cartoon drawings of idioms such as, ‘His eyes are bigger than his stomach’!
The second of our latest sets of idioms is all about colours, looking at sayings such as, ‘In the black’ and ‘Green with envy’. Once again these prove to be a rich source of material for discussion, writing and sketching and together with our other pages on animal sayings, weather sayings etc. they are an invaluable resource to help develop children’s language skills.
They can all be found in our ‘Vocabulary Development’ category.
