Our fabulous comprehension worksheets on British wildlife and pets are some of our most popular worksheets, and we are pleased to say that we have just added another great set of pages; this time on mini-beasts. We have comprehensions with colourful illustrations for ants, ladybirds and snails, three of our most common garden creatures.
Black ants are social creatures that live in large colonies of several thousand; all produced by the queen. Amazing!
Snails are not the gardeners most popular creature as they are especially fond of munching their way through tender plants. They lay eggs in the soil in bunches of 40 to 80 at a time.
Ladybirds, on the other hand, are well liked. They look good and eat aphids such as greenfly.
As before the comprehensions come at different levels which make them very useful for children with differing reading levels.
