Year 6 Number, rounding, place value For the first time this year the new targets for children to reach by the end of year 6 are in place and the new SATs will reflect this. Without doubt they are challenging. The targets include: •    reading, writing, ordering and comparing numbers up to 10 000 000 and determining the value of each digit •    rounding any whole number to a required degree of accuracy •    using negative numbers in context, and calculating intervals across zero •    solving number and practical problems that involve all of the above. We have just updated our Year 6 Number and Place Value worksheets, using new fonts and a better layout, including negative numbers with co-ordinates in all four quadrants.
