Year 5 Order and Compare Numbers
Year 5 Order and Compare Numbers
Children in Year 5 are expected to be able to read, write and compare numbers up to a million, but there is a lot of work that needs to be done with smaller numbers before this can be achieved. For example, using tables and charts is an excellent way of introducing children to working with and ordering larger numbers up to hundreds of thousands. Our most recent pages on ordering the populations of towns along the south coast are great for showing whether children understand and can work with these numbers.
Once this has been done we have plenty more resources with larger numbers, up to millions.
