Year 4 is all about learning times tables and there is a big test coming up in June, called the MTC, to see just how well these tables have been learned. Fortunately we have a fabulous free resource to help children do well in this test!

The MTC (Multiplication Tables Check) has been created for the Government to find out how well children in Year 4 can recall their times tables.

Every June there will be an online, on-screen assessment (MTC) taken by children in Year 4 (aged 8/9). This check will be hard, make no mistake, and if children are to succeed they really will have to know their times tables, ‘off by heart’. Only 6 seconds to answer each of 25 questions geared towards the harder tables such as 7x and 12x and an expectation of 100% correct, leaves no room for error.

These include both on-screen practice and printable worksheets to ensure that they know times tables better before taking the real test.
