Year 4 new resources: finding perimeters

The term ‘regular polygon’ is introduced in Year 4 and children will be taught that a regular polygon has all its sides of equal length and all its angles are equal. As far as finding the perimeter of a regular polygon, children only need to know that the sides are of equal length. This makes it quite easy to find the perimeter, either by repeated addition or multiplication.
Our latest resources concentrate on finding the perimeter of regular polygons, including finding the perimeter of shapes made by joining polygons. In these cases care has to be taken to count the number of sides of the joined shape.
We have a great selection of measurement resources for Year 4. Take a look now.
