Year 2 new resources: doubling and halving

In Year 1 children see doubling as adding two equal quantities. In Year 2 the connection is made between adding two equal numbers and multiplying by 2, as well as recognising that halving a number is the same as dividing by 2.
Once children are confident with doubling and halving small numbers, they can begin to look for patterns. For example, if they know that double 4 is 8, they can predict that double 40 is 80.
Our latest set of pages takes a look at doubling and halving and we have also updated two of our popular sets on doubling small amounts of money, but using images of the new King Charles coins.
