We have a great range of resources to help with understanding the terms, ‘more than’ and ‘less than’ and we have just added new pages on finding one more or one less with larger numbers, within 100. This links in well with children’s skills with counting, which will develop as the year progresses. Children may well find it harder to find one less than when the number crosses a multiple of ten, e.g. one less than 70.
