In Year 1 children will develop their understanding of time, using hours, minutes and seconds. Whilst not converting from one to the other, they will learn that minutes are a longer period than seconds and that hours are a longer period than minutes. Part of this will be to decide which unit of time would be best to measure an activity. Our latest resources look at this in detail, asking children to decide which unit of measurement to use.
