In Year 3 children will make great progress with addition, both mentally and using written methods, to add 3-digit numbers. A key part of this is understanding place value. Children need to be confident with placing 3-digit numbers into place value charts and using part-whole models to add numbers with no exchange. Our latest pages do just this and are well worth a look.
