New English KS1: Understanding suffixes
Children are introduced to prefixes and suffixes during Key Stage 1. Suffixes are letters added to the end of a word which will change its meaning, word type or tense. Our latest set of resources look at adding the suffixes ‘ing’, ‘ed’ and ‘er’ to words in order to make new words.
For example ‘start’ can be changed to ‘starting’, ‘started’ or ‘starter’.
