New Early Reception Resources: Circles and Triangles
Children will be introduced to circles and triangles in the real world and should be asked to point out their properties with questions such as, ‘What do you notice about this shape?’ At first, they will probably use everyday language such as ‘sharp’ or, ‘pointy’ but they can be introduced to mathematical language such as ‘sides’, ‘straight’ and ‘corner’.
Our latest pages, published this week, take a simple look at recognising circles and triangles. Just what is needed!
