Our latest resources, published this week, look at multiplying by 8. An important part of this is for children to recognise that each multiple of 8 is double the equivalent multiple of 4. This can be extended so that children can see that multiplying a number by 8 is the same as doubling the number 3 times. Whilst it is hoped that children will quickly learn the 8 times table this can still be of help when calculating.

These pages also look at visual and word problems requiring knowledge of the 8 times table to answer them. They are a great addition to our extensive resources on multiplication in Year 3.
