In Year 4 children will work on the effect of multiplying numbers by 1 and by 0. They will notice that when they multiply a number by one the answer will always be the number itself. When multiplying by zero the answer will always be zero.

Our new resources use pictorial representations to help show the effect of multiplying by one and zero. Just the job for those children who confuse the two multiplications.
