Count up to 10
The aim of this tutorial is to help children become fluent with counting objects up to 10. Interestingly this entails several principles which may be taken for granted, including:
- One to one. One number name is assigned to each object that is being counted.
- Stable order. When counting the numbers have to be said in order.
- The cardinal principle. The last or final object in a group gives the total number of objects in the group.
Most of this counting work should be done using real objects, but the advantage of the tutorial is that it can be replayed as many times as needed.
