Year 1: Counting in 2s, 5s & 10s
Our latest resources provide more practice at counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. Children should already have had plenty of practical experience counting in twos, including using things that come in pairs, such as shoes, gloves etc.
Counting in tens will focus on multiples of 10 up to 50, but our latest set of pages extends this as many children will be confident with counting in tens up to 100.
Counting in fives is trickier as there are not so many practical examples, but we have included boxes of 5 buttons, balls, ladybirds and beetles to help with this.
These new pages have been placed in the multiplication category as children are encouraged to use the language of multiplication, such as “There are 4 equal groups of 5. There are 20 altogether.”
