Make a whole with hundredths

‘Partitioning the whole,’ continues into fractions work in Year 4 with the emphasis on hundredths using decimals. Children are asked to make a whole from hundredths, which requires a very good knowledge of number bonds to 100. Without this knowledge they may well slip up. Look out for errors such as working out that 54 hundredths needs to be added to 56 hundredths to make one whole.
