Year 4: Angle as a measure of turn
The key to understanding angle is to see an angle as a measurement of turn. In Year 4 children will use clock faces and compass points to describe a quarter, half and three-quarter turns, both clockwise and anticlockwise. They will also be shown how these turns can be represented on paper, as well as using the term right angle. Our latest pages are full of questions concerning these types of turn, providing excellent consolidation so that children are confident when moving on to acute and obtuse angles.
