Year 3: Draw Pictograms
Having already been introduced to simple pictograms, the next step is for children to make their own, using given data. At first this can be using a symbol that represents one, before moving on to one symbol representing multiples e.g. 2, 5 or 10.
We have just published two sets of pages on creating pictograms. The first uses circles to represent one and then two items, whilst the second uses images to represent five and then ten items. An important part of this is to realise that the symbols representing two and ten items can be divided into half, to represent one and five items respectively.
