Reception: Exploring Maps
Maps are introduced in Reception, on a very simple level. They should help children see how an aerial view can be drawn on paper. Simple features, such as houses or shops can be shown on these maps, using terms such as next to and along, as well as drawing lines on the map to get from one feature to another.
