Year 4: Ordering Numbers
Ordering numbers up to 10,000 is a target for Year 4. This can involve ordering from the smallest to greatest and greatest to smallest, as well as using terms such as ascending and descending. They will be given numbers where the thousands digits are equal so that the hundreds or tens digits will determine the order.
To make this more interesting we have just published three sets of ordering numbers, which use data from the Olympic Games, books and roses to order 4-digit numbers. Did you know that many of our most famous roses were introduced as long ago as the 1700s?
