Autumn Term 1
Welcome to our weekly programme for Year 6. We have selected a set of worksheets for each day of the week from Monday to Friday. Because these are mainly made up of 3 or 4 pages they are ideal for a child to go through the first page with an adult before trying a different page on their own.
The topics are matched to the current Maths Programme of Study as set out by the Government as well as KS2 SAT revision, investigations and problem solving.. We have tried hard to organise the topics in a similar way to most schools, but as each school has their own approach we cannot guarantee they match any particular school’s programme.
Week 1
We start the term off with working with large numbers including numbers over a million.
Week 2
Rounding numbers and negative numbers are the topics for this week.
Week 3
It is important to consolidate and revise addition and subtraction using large numbers.
Week 4
This week we revise using the formal written method of multiplication with large numbers.
Week 5
Revise short and long division and quick mental skills.
Dividing by multiples of ten with no remainders.
Week 6
It's time for some SATs revision of typical arithmetic questions.
